Philosophy Question

Description

In Units 2 & 3: Coaching Objectives and Coaching Style of the ASEP online class, there is a section titled “Refining your Coaching Philosophy”. (You ca complete a Google Search on this topic in lieu of the ASEP information).

Write at least a two-page paper (double spaced text, Times Roman 12 point font, include an APA-compliant Title and Reference page) describing your personal coaching philosophy and style. Be specific as to particular situations and how you would handle them. For instance, first define your coaching style and philosophy. Then, share a situation that you have handled (or a hypothetical situation) and how it relates to your philosophical choice. Through your course readings, you will recognize ASEP’s philosophy is: “Athletes First, Winning Second.”

Establishing a coaching philosophy is a very important step in your career development. Similarly, developing a consistent coaching style that reflects your personality and values is equally important. This is especially true when you encounter any of the seven Coaching Issues mentioned in Unit 3. Finally, please mention the steps you are or will be taking to become a “Cooperative Style” Coach.
