ECON 680 Economics Capstone Seminar: Discussion 3.1: Literature Review

Description

This is likely the most important week in the course. You should feel a sense of urgency as you review the literature to find economic theory that provides contexts for your paper. In addition, you will hopefully find similar studies to the one you are proposing.

Your task:

In this discussion forum, please cite:

1. How did your literature review help narrow your research topic into a research question with a testable hypothesis.
2. What is the main economic theory that is motivating your research?
3. What two or three empirical papers have you found that sets the context of your research? How is your research similar and/or different from the research in these studies?

Be aware that you should continually review your literature review section as you develop your paper, because your paper likely takes may unexpected twists and turns.
