The assignments in this course will culminate in creating a marketing plan for a hypothetical company. Your company will offer a product or service. You will use the same company and product or service throughout the course in the assignments and some discussions, so take the time to think strategically about your decision. For example, I will refer to my hypothetical dog-walking business throughout the course.

Classmate post:and I’m currently working towards completing my Master of Business Administration degree! I graduated with my Bachelors from Kennesaw State University and I’m taking this course to not only complete my degree but learn more about marketing.

The hypothetical company I’d like to create is a public relations company specializing in managing social media influencers. My company would work to secure brand deals for social media influencer, manage their reputation, and help them build a personal brand that resonates with their audience. Additionally, we would also offer crisis management services to assist influencers with navigating any challenges that arise and offer media training to strengthen their communication skills. Our services would include content strategy and development, audience engagement, and analytics to ensure our clients maximize their reach and impact. We would be open to managing influencers on all platforms, but specifically Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

A simple breakdown of how I’d implement the Four Ps of Marketing is:

Product: Influencer Management, Brand Deals, Sponsorships, Reputation and Crisis Management

  • In addition to managing each influencer, we would secure partnerships to generate income for influencers and handle their public image while providing strategies for navigating controversies.

Price: It may vary but we would first secure a retainer fee which would cover the monthly service fee and then request a 10-15% commission based on the secured partnerships. We will also offer a la carte items for influencers that still want to use our services, but may not need to have us on a monthly retainer.

Place: We’d have a strong online presence, but the office location would be a rented office space in Atlanta where we could meet with influencers in person and offer content shoot days for influencers.

Promotion: Our promotion would include managing our own social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok, offering regular blog posts, newsletters, and social media updates. Additionally, we’d encourage the influencers we work with to provide testimonials showcasing our success stories from our managed influencers.
