Description

Choose a disease that affects the human body. Describe the symptoms and mechanisms of the diseases, including how the immune system acts to defend against this disease and how this disease bypasses the critical protections of our immune system. Last, be sure to mention treatment options, including both current approaches and anything new under development (gene editing/therapy, nanotechnology, etc.) Pose a question at the end of your initial work for your peers and professor. All work must be done in APA format, in-text citations and scholarly resources.

In response to your peers, ask questions about the disease that your classmates have discussed. Have you heard of this disease? Is there additional information that you can add? You should also answer any questions that the class asks about your disease. This is an introductory course for non-science majors, so you are not expected to be experts on these diseases; however, you should be able to provide a basic understanding of the disease. You must support your 2 peers responses with scholarly sources in APA format. Simply stating your opinion is not enough, back up your opinion with citations. Tell why or why not you agree or disagree with the information in the peer posts. Your responses should be as good as your initial post! Dig deep with your responses and elaborate more on the topic and why you agree or disagree with the post. Initial post should be at least 4 paragraphs and your responses should be 4-6 paragraphs long.
