Discussion: Using the U.S. Drought Monitor time series page, select a state with drought conditions that are getting worse over time. Describe the trend you are observing—what levels of drought are more occurrent and when (what seasons and/or years)? Use the U.S. Drought Monitor State Impacts site. tool to find relevant impacts for that state. What sectors are impacted and why? Be specific and cite examples! Be sure to click the “Weeks in Drought” column in results to display headlines from when the state was longest into a drought. Do certain sectors (i.e., Agriculture, Fire, etc.) become impacted more the longer a drought continues?
