Based on the story “COCO” – How can setting (time and place) be used to express meaning in fiction?

RESEARCH PAPER GUIDELINES
• Introduction
– Find a strong opening. This may be a quote, a question, a statistic, or some other
way to interest your audience in the topic.
– Provide some basic details about the research you have conducted.
– Make your thesis statement. This should be a few sentences that sum up the
answer you have found for your research question.
The entire introduction should be about one or two paragraphs long.
• Supporting Evidence
– In your research, you found examples of evidence to support your answer to the
research question. Give each example a page or more to explain how it proves
your thesis. You may quote, paraphrase, summarize, or reference your sources,
as long as you make it clear you are using someone else’s ideas, and you include
in-text citations.
This section will easily be the longest part of your paper.
• NOTE: In-text citations are in addition to the Works Cited page.
• Conclusion
– Move on from your evidence to show why this information is important and
interesting. Leave your audience with something to consider in the future.
This should be only one or two paragraphs long.
• NOTE: You should NOT simply reword your thesis statement in your
conclusion.
• Works Cited
– Check your in-text citations to make sure every source you have used is cited
within the text of the paper. Make sure these match with your annotated
research bibliography. Put them in MLA format. Place this list on a separate page
at the end of your paper.
• NOTE: The Works Cited page does NOT count toward your overall page
count requirement.
• Annotations
Submit your annotated research bibliography with your paper
