Working with individuals with developmental disabilities (DD) is never a “one size fits all” procedure. There are many aspects to assisting students and parents that are specific to particular situations. Students are to read one of the optional books (listed below) related to students with DD. This activity has two parts: (1) written report and (2) PowerPoint presentation
1. A written report including the following information:
A. A complete citation of the book in APA format (7th edition)
B. An overview and/or summary of the book in your own words (2 pages minimum) C. Your reaction/reflection of the book (3 pages minimum)
D. A description of how the information from this book will be/is helpful to your
work as an educator or parent (2 pages minimum).
2. A PowerPoint presentation including:
A. Titlepage(includingcitation)
B. A maximum of two slides for each section from your written report (i.e. overview/summary, reaction/reflection, and connection between the book and current classroom practices).
C. Presentations should be posted on the “Discussions” board under “Book Reviews.”
