To complete this assignment, first read the following case study:
Cape Town Water crisis: Can one “Day Zero” prevent another?” by Mike Porcelli, Matt Willig, and Zane Almquist
Please note that in order to read/view the case study, you will need to create a free Learn Gala account. To do this, click the link above, then follow the prompts where the ‘Create New Account’ button appears. Sign in using your Unity.edu credentials.
After reading the entire case study above, write a Case Study Response, to be completed as a written assignment (2 – 3 pages, double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font). This should be a thoughtful analysis of the issues covered by the case, and should provide direct responses to the problem presented and the questions posed. The response should contain the following components:
Part 1 (15 points): Executive Summary: What happened in Cape Town in 2018? What were some of the factors and drivers that led to the water crisis? Who were some of the impacted stakeholders — including those that may not have been mentioned in the case? What were some of the takeaway lessons from the water crisis? Do you think the experience of CT will serve as a warning/deterrent for other global cities? Why or why not?
Part 2 (15 points): Four Forces Analysis: What were the elements of the four forces at play in the issue? You can use a diagram or write out what factors were at play, and the relative strength of each. If desired, you can use the Four Forces template provided in Canvas.
Part 3 (15 points): Recommendations: What should the South African government do to help Cape Town? What should other global cities facing water shortage do to avoid a Cape Town-style crisis? How does this have relevance for United States policymakers?
Part 4 (5 points): APA Citations: You should cite at least 3 external resources on this topic as you complete your analysis.

Executive Summary
The Executive Summary section demonstrates definitive comprehension of the case, including the underlying scientific issues and political factors, socio-economic context, and involved stakeholders. Summary generally outlines the history and context of the issue presented in the case, as well as generally explaining the scientific consensus on the underlying issue, any expert or scientific community reactions to the proposed legislation/regulation, and gaps in scientific knowledge that might impact a reader’s view of the issue. 15.0 pts

Four Forces Analysis
The Four Forces Analysis clearly outlines key stakeholders and actors, accurately categorizing them into the four aspects of leverage (i.e. Behavior, Technology, Governance, Markets) and persuasively describing or diagramming the relative strength of each force, as well as the evidence for these relative strengths and the way they interacted in the case. 15.0 pts

Recommendations
Recommendations are clear, appropriate, and feasible from both a logistic and economic perspective. Recommendations are directed toward an appropriate person or entity, and make suggestions for actions within the present scope of power of that person or entity (i.e. “Local Zambian school teachers should demand that the UN invest $4 trillion dollars in cat nurseries” is not a good recommendation). Supporting statements for recommendations are accurate and reflective of thoughtful analysis of the case. 15.0 pts
