English Daily Writing 4.2

Description

Review the prewriting list that you submitted for Daily Writing 4.1.

Based on that list and any minor adjustments that you wish to make, compose a cause and effect essay (introductory paragraph, body paragraphs, and concluding paragraph) that expands your ideas and that shares your knowledge, experience, and opinions about three causes and a resulting three effects of cell phone theft from personal users as shown on your 4.1 prewriting list. Notice that the words causes and effects are plural. For each cause there must be a resulting effect.

THIRD-PERSON POINT OF VIEW: Assuming that the third person is a cell phone thief, a character who looks upon victims with indifference, and victims are nothing more than a source for financial gain, use the third-person point of view, the thief being the third person, to compose this essay. In each paragraph, provide the given name of the thief once and use third-person pronouns to refer to the thief. One name, one thief.

Do not cite the thief as the cause of the cell phone theft, and do not use the names of any others in the essay.

Remember, you are writing about the third person (thief), not as the third person. First- and second-person pronouns may not be used in this assignment.

The word count requirement for this assignment is 400 words minimum, 500 words maximum.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The language in assignments that require writing about a specific point of view must conform to the “English Composition Checklist.” For example, a dirty rotten scoundrel would most likely use some unsavory language filled with inappropriate expletives, but when an English Composition student writes from the point of view of a dirty rotten scoundrel, the voice must be that of a dirty rotten scoundrel, but the writing (usage, grammar, language mechanics) must conform to and be suitable for the English Composition classroom language.
