Purpose/Objective of this assignment: To bring awareness and insight to the latest evidence-based information related to current health problems and/or topics in the critical care environment.

Assignment Requirements: The student will select an article from a scholarly/professional nursing journal related to any topic from the weekly lecture content, and write a short paper related to the article content. Articles chosen should be within the last 5-10 years. Must be in APA format.

· At minimum, the following detail must be addressed in the paper:
Research Problem/Article Purpose

· State the purpose of the article. Include relevant summarized background information.
Variables/Hypotheses

· What are the independent and dependent variables in the article?
· What is the research question or the hypothesis stated in the article?
Methodology

· What is the sample size?
· What is the target population?
· What is the focused setting of the article?
· Were ethical considerations addressed?
Data Analysis

· How was data collected?
· What were the results/findings? [Identify at least one (1) finding].
Summary/Conclusion, Implications, and Recommendations

· Summarize the article and findings
· What significance does the article have to health care?
· What are some nursing recommendations as a result of the article?
