No Child Left Behind (NCLB) was a major piece of federal legislation that influenced teaching and testing practices in the schools. NCLB was updated in December 2015 and is now called the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

Please discuss the similarities and differences between NCLB and ESSA. Do you think ESSA is a significant improvement over NCLB?
