Of Mice of Men writing extension
Description
Option #1: Alternative Ending (What if ?) 3 paragraphs
You will write an alternative ending to Of Mice and Men. You have total flexibility as to what happens in your ending. You must use the same characters that are present in the original ending of the book, however, you may introduce new characters, or get rid of any old ones you wish (well, death does factor into the ending of the story). Above all else, your ending has to be creative, believable, and exciting! Make sure readers can follow what you are trying to say!
Option #2: Continuation of the Story (Now what ?) 3 paragraphs
You will write a continuation of Of Mice and Men. Again, you have total flexibility as to what happens, however, being reasonable and true to the story is going to be key here. You can focus on only one character, or you may choose to incorporate more than one character into your story. Be creative, believable, and exciting! Make sure readers can follow what you are trying to say!
Option #3: Lennies Obituary
An obituary is a notice of a persons death which includes details from their life. The purpose of an obituary is to notify people of the persons death and to honor their life and accomplishments of it. A standard obituary contains the following components:
The first sentence starts with the full name of the deceased, the city in which they resided, the date they died, where they died, and sometimes case of death.
The next sentence often tells when and where the deceased was born, and the names of parents.
Then the obituary can go on to give the accomplishments and a chronological account of the persons life and education.
A list of surviving family usually is at the end, but can also be included right after the first sentence announcing the death.
The obituary closes with the funeral, burial, wake, or memorial details and a foundation where memorial gifts can be donated.
Remember, an obituary is a celebration of the deceased and it is an honor to be the one to write it. Remember to keep this in mind who is writing the obituary?
