Proposal and Tentative Thesis Assignment

Description

The proposal is your initial idea about what your semester-long project is going to be about. Review projects from previous semester to get some ideas.

Objectives:
Your proposal should address the following:
Include a working title for your project. This can be something general at the point (Girls and Sports is fine), but you’ll need to get more specific later.
Describe your project and why it interests you.
Formulate a tentative thesis. What is the question you want to explore?
Outline your methodology (research paper, interview project, creative project, etc.)
Explain how your project connects to the field of girlhood studies. Use Kearney’s essay “Coalescing” as a guide.

Format:
Proposals should be 300-500-words.
