Description

The historical process requires analysis and interpretation. Due to the nature of the class, not everyone will have an opportunity to participate in class – I understand that. So as a way to get your thoughts and opinions about the material covered in class, the Discussion Posts will serve as your opportunity to participate in the Historical Analysis process.

At the end of each Unit you will participate in an online discussion with your class mates. Questions about the assigned textbook readings will be presented. You will answer one of three questions addressing the material in the books. I will be specific about which chapter of the book the question addresses.

RUBRIC

The assignment is worth a total of 6 points. Below you will see how the points are awarded.

Your discussion posts will be graded using the following criteria

Length: at least three paragraphs long (“intro, body, conclusion” format is fine) [.5 point]
Spelling and Grammar: Proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling [.5 point]
Clarity: Provides a clear answer to the question [1 points]
Analysis: Clear analysis is present in post. [2 points]
Citations: Provides at least one specific quote to address the question [1 points]
Response: Responds to at least one other classmates discussion post [1 point]
Your responses must be thoughtful about the material your classmate posted.
Responses must be at least one paragraph long and
Responses must go beyond the basic: “good point,” “I agree,” or anything of that like.
You only need to answer ONE question. At the top of every post you make please indicate which question you are answering as seen below:
