Description

For this essay write an analysis that compares the federal versus state and local governments. In a 3 page paper, identify and expand on at least three specific points of similarity or difference between the different levels of government. You may discuss the responsibilities, leadership structure, size or reform efforts for the different levels of government, for example. [Note that discussing the three branches of government at the federal, state and local levels does not qualify as three specific points; this would all fall under ‘structure’.] Offer examples and resources to support your analysis.

This is a formal writing assignment and will be graded as such. Cite your sources in APA format. Note, Wikipedia, eHow, ezine, and online dictionaries, for example, are NOT appropriate resources for academic or professional writing.

Papers should contain:

An introductory paragraph that establishes the issues that your paper will address;
A body that addresses the guidelines listed above;
A summative conclusion; and
A reference page.
