Instruction:
In 1974 Lukes phrased a new conceptualisation of power. In this conceptualization he made a distinction between three dimensions of power. For this assignment you will need to summarize these three dimensions of power in your own words and clarify your own interpretation by means of examples from an episode of the Netflix documentary series’Dirty Money’ (season 2, episode 6, ‘Point Comfort’). Include the following elements in your assignment (not necessarily in this order):
• An explanation of the three dimensions, in your own words.
• A brief discussion of how the three dimensions relate to one another and why Lukes chose the word ‘dimension’ in his conceptualisation of power.
• Examples of the three dimensions, from the Dirty Money Episode ‘Point Comfort’. Make sure to connect the examples to the theory properly.
• A short conclusion on the added value of Lukes’ conceptualization of power in contemporary times
