Objective:

• For the quotes, no need to supply a Works Cited page; simply state the page number and the source after the quote. Also, use quotes of 2-3 sentences in length.

1. Nietzsche argues that people in power think of morality differently from those outside of power.

• If he is right, what are the basic differences?
• Use a situation from the pandemic to illustrate Nietzsche’s points about master and slave moralities.
• Do you agree with Nietzsche’s assessment? Explain.

2. For the role of God in morality, list whether you (SA), (A), (U), (D), (SD) with the following statements. Explain your position.

a) What does it mean to say that “Gd is dead, therefore everything is permitted,” as Dostoevsky claims.

b) Would you live your life any differently if you concluded Gd is dead – or that He is alive and well?

Next, identify an important question that is raised in the readings. Also attempt to answer the question in at least one full paragraph.
