Schizophrenia was once a waste basket category for many individuals who did not fit the criteria of other disorders. Address the following:

1. Discuss the sometimes difficult task of differentiating schizophrenia from other disorders.
2. Describe possible scenarios or situations wherein delusions or even hallucinations which might be “normal” even in the absence of a schizophrenic process. Possibilities may include post-traumatic stress, borderline personality disorder, and substance effects.
