HSA 6118 Organization Behavior in Healthcare
Description
Working in groups, students will be required to prepare a research project in the form of a
presentation. Each group will submit a PowerPoint presentation using the guidelines appearing
in this syllabus. No two groups may use the same theory or theorist. At least five (5) reputable
references are required and must be cited in the presentation.
· Presentations will address:
Description of a behavioral theorist, theory or model, including all variables and their
operational definitions.
Review of the theorist’s work or history of the theory or model (how it evolved).
Test of the model (research).
Applying the theory to a work setting in a health care organization. Real or hypothetical
scenarios can be used.
An analysis of how the group worked together. Techniques used to organize and manage
the project.
· Presentations will be scored based upon:
o Content, organization of content
o Slide appearance, design
o Thoroughness, completeness
o Research, references, citations
o Presentation delivery (Audio recording is required on slides).
· ALL students are required to provide one substantive commentary on all other student
presentations.
It is suggested that students check out the “PowerPoint presentation Do’s and Don’ts” file
found in the Useful Links for HAS 6103 content folder before putting together their
presentation. The link is: http://www.slideshare.net/ETRC/power-point-presentations-
do’s-and-do nots. This presentation will help guide you in making a strong PowerPoint
presentation.
- Presentations will address:

- Slides should include a cover slide with all group member names; a reference page in APA format and no more than 10 slides.
- Do not use Google Drive for submitting the assignment.
- Presentations will be scored based upon:

- Thoroughness, completeness
- Research, references, citations
- Presentation delivery (Audio recording is required on slides).
- ALL students are required to provide one substantive commentary on all other student presentations.
