Unit 7: Final Project

Description

Submit a paper on your selected topic (submitted in unit 3). Use a minimum of 5 scholarly sources (submitted and approved in unit 5). In addition to your Final Project Paper, you will also present this content in a PowerPoint presentation (also in unit 7; see Final Project Presentation documents). One goal of this assignment is to teach your classmates about your topic. This paper will focus on recent relevant research findings in the field. Although this is a psychology class, the primary focus of your paper should be on neuroscience and not psychology. For example, if your topic is Depression, you should focus on genetics, brain regions affected, neurochemistry, and neurobiological/pharmacological treatments.

Instructions:

The paper should include the following:

An APA style title page (includes your topic approved in unit 3).

Content: Three full pages discussing neuroscience research results from five scholarly resources (submitted and approved in unit 5) on your topic.

Structure and Flow: paper should be organized thematically according to the sub-theme you are discussing (examples include description of a disorder, symptoms, brain regions affected, treatments, etc.). Use appropriate paragraphing and transitions.

Mechanics: spelling, grammar, APA style in-text citations, and Reference page.

Neuroscience Content: Summarize by bullet point the key research findings on your topic in your PowerPoint. Do not copy large chunks of your paper onto slides.
