Topic: Strategies for Teaching Reading to Struggling Readers in the EC Classroom

Part B of the paper will be an explication of your thoughts on the topic. It should be 5 pages in
length. You will structure the paper into chapters as outlined below. You will use font size 12 and
double space throughout the paper. You will use APA 7th Edition for text citations and your
reference list.
Your discourse should answer these ideas:
Chapter 1- Introduction –
Reason for selecting this topic: Why did you choose this topic? Why did you see this topic as an
important one?
Chapter 2-Topic Discussion -8
Definition and major components: What is the definition of your chosen area? What are the
major parts/components? What is the alignment with specific learning theories or theorists? In
other words, how are the major parts interrelated with learning theories? As you complete this
chapter, you should cite information from your annotated bibliography articles.
Chapter 3- Discussion of My Understanding
How was your understanding expanded, changed, and confirmed by reading the peer-reviewed
journal articles? You will explain how the reading of the articles did these three things: Expand your
understanding, change your understanding, and confirm your understanding/knowledge. As you
complete this chapter, you should cite information from your annotated bibliography articles.
Chapter 4- Advantages/Benefits of the topic in the classroom
What are the advantages in the classroom? You want to cite research to solidify your position.
For example, One advantage of teaching vocabulary is that students get better with expressing
themselves when writing. Green (2019) indicated that vocabulary instruction helps with the
writing growth of students.
Chapter 5- Implementation of the key parts in the classroom
How does a teacher utilize this within the classroom? What are specific activities/ tasks that
students can complete? What are some challenges that teachers and students have regarding this
topic?
Reference Page- After chapter 5, you will have a reference page with all your sources (including
the 6 articles from the annotated bibliography using the APA 7th Edition protocols for the
reference list-
