Film Question

Description

ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS AND GRADING RUBRIC BELOW

ASSIGNMENT BASICS:

  1. Complete reading of Chapters 1, 2, and 3. I CAN’T GIVE YOU THE EBOOK, BUT I SCREENSHOT THE PAGES, EXCEPT CHAPTER 3 (JUST HALF OF IT AND THE QUESTIONS AT THE END) please check the link for the reading https://web.goodnotes.com/s/JvPKgJh5nNPVwRbnFyu8Ja… please give it a few minutes to load
  2. Read through all of the questions at the end of Chapter 2 on pages 30-32 and at the end of Chapter 3 on pages 70-72 before watching Hugo or the film of your choice. You could also use questions from the end of Chapter 1 if you like!
  3. Choose 3 questions out of the questions on pages 30-32 (Chapter 2) and pages 70-72 (Chapter 3): You can choose the questions from one or the other chapters, or a mixture of both.
  4. Watch Hugo or the film of your choice in full (check the end of each chapter, lots of film recommended), all in one sitting if possible, with the questions you have chosen in mind. Take notes while watching if that is helpful to you.
  5. At the top of your discussion board post write, either in title form, or in sentence form–the name of the film, year made, director of the film, and when you watched the film (examples: Hugo, (2011) directed by Martin Scorsese, watched on 9/3/2024, OR I watched Hugo, made in 2011, directed by Martin Scorsese on September 3, 2024).
  6. Type each of the 3 questions you have chosen into the Discussion Board in the following way:
    1. (1) Name the Chapter the question comes from, (2) the page number it comes from (you can also label the subtitle that the question falls under as well), and (3) then label the question exactly as it appears in the chapter questions.
    2. Example: (1) Chapter 3, (2) page 71, (2b-subtitle) On The Significance of Title, (3) Question 5: “If the title calls your attention to a key scene, why is that scene important?”
    3. Then you would answer all three questions in the manner described below in the section entitled HOW TO WRITE YOUR POST.
