  • You must also incorporate our main course text, Corbett’s Communicating Nature.
  • This is a minimum total of four sources on the References page.
  • You are welcome and encouraged to cite more than the minimum requirement.
  • All sources must be connected clearly and substantively, as well as smoothly integrated with something discussed in your paper.

Instructions

Report on a key figure in environmentalism. You will select from a list in Canvas on a first-come, first-served basis. Once an individual is chosen, no one else can write about that person. The list of individuals can be found by clicking on this link: Key Environmental Figures

Related to paper preparation, organization, and structure:

• Write a creative introduction wherein you share / state a clear central idea / thesis statement.
• After the creative intro, include a short biography of the key figure chosen.
• For the body of your paper, highlight the individual’s perspective on environmental communication. It is up to you how you organize the main ideas.
• Be sure to cover and explain the person’s primary passions and related objectives.
• Share any relevant successes / failures.
• When closing, provide a succinct summary of ideas that is creatively written.
• Avoid using “In conclusion” in your paper. Instead, end the paper memorably, perhaps discussing how the person’s work was beneficial long-term and/or remains important today when it comes to environmental communication.
