While doing this assignment please read the rubric I will provide the chapter from the text in this discussion it will be attached below.

After watching the TED talks by Keith Chen “Could Your Language Affect Your Ability to Save Money” and Phuc Tran “Grammar, Identity and the Dark Side of the Subjunctive,” describe how your own reaction to the claims in the videos that the structure of a language (such as the presence or absence of a particular verb tense) can influence human behavior? When you are using a second language, do you feel you see the world differently?

COM 233 Grading Rubric – Discussions
Students who get a 100 on the Discussions will have displayed the following

1. Thorough engagement with the textbook content

2. Responded to all of the “prompts” in each discussion (many prompts have several parts)

3. Provided sufficient detail and examples to reveal an “excellent” level of critical thinking in regards to the course content addressed by the prompts and questions.

An 85 indicates a “good” effort at all of the above, but some detail may be missing to thoroughly reveal the student’s level of critical thinking.

A 75 indicates an average effort at all of the above, meaning more detail and examples were required to completely show the student’s level of engagement and critical thinking.

A 59 indicates an incomplete response and/or one lacking in sufficient detail and examples to show the student has engaged with the actual course content.
