Write a memo of about two double-spaced pages in which you assume (by name and title) the
role assigned in this scenario. It will be addressed (by name and title) to the decision-maker
identified in this exercise. In about two double-spaced pages you will:
1. Describe the proposed policy
2. Make the case for the proposed policy
3. Make the case against the proposed policy
4. Present your recommendation
For each answer, use information from that chapter (or another chapter, if helpful) to illustrate
and support your ideas. You must also integrate supporting information from two outside
sources. Be sure to identify any source you use in a bibliography. If you are using a direct quote
from the text or any other source, you must identify it by using a parenthetical reference
immediately after the quote (e.g., Mydans, page 2).
Each assignment is worth five percent of your course grade. Submit each paper to its matching
D2L assignment drop box at any time you like, provided one is turned in by Monday, September
23 and the other by Monday, October 21.
