Mr. Paul, Director, Personnel Officer for Nessle Corporation located in Geneva, Switzerland wants to know the level of job satisfaction of the employees of this corporation and how they “feel” about the work conditions, pay, opportunity, benefits, up-ward mobility, and morale at this plant. There are 1428 employees at this production facility that are to be considered equally but in a stratified sample of four groups beginning with one.  He wants his staff to give seven randomly selected employees of each strata the survey. It is a detailed instrument that will take significant effort and time to complete.

In the Personnel Office of this Corporation, there is a Team of seven people with the skills to implement a survey of this nature.Shane, Keinna, Tralon, Vonette, Carol, Carina, and Keila.They are masters of survey mining.  Each employee of this Production Facility has a personal Identification Number (ID) and that number is in sequence beginning with one.Each person on the Team must complete one “live and in person” survey to meet the intent of the Director of Personnel.They do not know how to select the specific people in a random manner for the survey.

The Nessle Corporation has determined that students at Dallas College in Statistics clearly are accomplished in this process and have decided to consult you on how to select employees for this survey without bias.The corporation wants to divide the employees into four equal strata.You have been selected to identify the range of employees by number in the second strata.

You recall that the first strata begins with one and goes to ??? (you must determine ???).You then must determine at what number the second strata begins and at what number it ends.  With this information you are to use your calculator to determine 7 random numbers identifying the employees who are to be selected for the survey for each strata.
