Discussion Board #1: Art, Pleasure, and Beauty!  After carefully reading the first two chapters of the book, (1) explain the different theoretical attempts, discussed by the author, to explain the nature and value of art through (a) pleasure and (b) beauty; (2) describe Graham’s criticism of these different theories (in particular, why he finds them insufficient to account for the value of art); and (3) sketch your own view on the notions of aesthetic pleasure and beauty. If you so prefer, your analyses can focus on only two of such attempts/theories.
