Fences Review

Description

1. Watch the full Denzel Washington movie version of FENCES (it is 2 hours and 18 minutes long, so allow enough time.) This movie stayed very close to the original play script. You will note that there are very few locations and very few characters depicted in the movie, just as in the play.

2. Watch the 4 minute and 37 second Fences segment in August Wilson Documentary.There are two scenes from FENCES played on stage in this short segment.

3. Write a 300-400 word review of FENCES the movie. Include a paragraph comparing and contrasting the scenes shown in the short segment with the way those scenes are portrayed in the movie version. You may use either Goethe’s or Aristotle’s method to specify why the movie did or did not work for you.
