Journal Instructions Please read and follow instructions very carefully.

Write a 400-word minimum response to the questions below after you have read the assigned Field chapters and lecture. Do not use non-class materials.
Do not submit a WORD document. Just write your response in the textbox provided.
Responses must cite and reference the assigned readings and lecture in every question for full credit. Use proper APSA formats and you learned in the Citation Exercise and in the handouts.
Do not make up citation formats (i.e., formats not included in the samples in the handouts).
Be concise. Use one word instead of five. Get to the point. No unnecessary filler phrases or comments.
Do not make statements that are not supported by either the assigned lectures or readings (e.g., popular or private opinions); do not use personal anecdotes or personalize at all (e.g., “I”). Minimize personal opinions unless asked. In other words, “ground yourself in the literature.”
Maintain “academic distance” and neutrality (i.e., do not take sides “for” or “against” anything).
Don’t use rhetorical questions. Always make firm and definitive statements.
Use proper spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar.
