Attacks on Modern Day firewalls and vpns

SELECTED TOPIC: Modern Day Attacks on Firewalls and VPN’s
1. Introduction: The purpose of this paper will be for me to discuss modern day attacks against Firewalls and Virtual Private Networks. These types of attacks are on the rise as many people today use mobile or wireless technology. No system or mobile device is immune to a cyber-attack or in any way impenetrable. Companies and organizations employ layers of firewalls but by no means does that eliminate any attacks. New attacks are being employed on a regular basis with new types of methodologies.
2. Discuss what a firewall is, how it is employed, and what is capable of doing.
3. Describe what virtual private network is, and how it is utilized.
4. Discuss modern day attacks and how they exploit system vulnerabilities.
5. Thesis and conclusion
Thesis Statement: Modern day attacks on Firewalls and VPN’s are growing at an alarming rate and extreme sophistication.
