Weekly Assignment: Tissues

Description

Instructions
Below here, there are six tissue descriptions. Write a few sentences for each description answering the following questions:

Is it an epithelial or connective tissue? Why?
Which subtype of epithelial or connective tissue? Why?
Example
Description Sample: Lines the gastrointestinal tract forming a hollow tube. In this region, absorption is essential.

Answer: This is an epithelial tissue because it “lines” a series of organs (the GI tract) and it faces a hollow region (lumen), which means it has an apical surface. As for the classification, I believe this is a simple columnar epithelium: simple because a single layer of cells is required for absorption and columnar because the gastrointestinal tract presents columnar cells.
