Part A : Find An Article
Find an influential article (that has been cited 10 or more times) from a highly regarded journal in your field.

Part B: Summarize:The Article
Give a summary of the article that goes beyond the summary of the abstract. Namely, show how the article is structured by highlighting important passages and making connections between those passages. (500 words)

Part C : Analyze The Article’s Reference List
Speak to the type of references the article cites. Does the article mostly draw from a particular body of literature or does it take an interdisciplinary approach to building its argument through citations? How is the argument of the article situated in the field in relation to the types of research and scholarship it cites? (250-500 words)

Part D: Evaluate The Article
Evaluate the article in terms of its usefulness for the field . Does the article give a sufficient opening for other research to be built from it? Does the article extend ideas pertinent to its area of research or correct mistaken ideas?
Further, give a brief narrative of how you see this article fitting within your own research. Namely, will you: 1. accept everything in the article and use it as support for your own work, 2. extend the article’s scope as part of your own research agenda, or 3. reject the article and offer alternatives with your own research? (500-750 words)
